Benefits of massage

During a massage treatment, you experience what I love most about massage — being touched by another person. Touch releases hormones such as oxytocin, which increases calm and reduces stress, and can among other things contribute to an improved immune system and better sleep. Beyond the benefits of touch, massage is non-invasive and can relieve a range of complaints such as muscle tension and pain conditions — just a few examples of the benefits of massage.

Swedish massage

Swedish massage is a treatment form where the muscles are the focus. The treatment uses a combination of different massage strokes and techniques, and suits most people.

Monotonous strain, heavy work, stress, hard training, muscle imbalance, and poor posture are common causes of tension, tenderness, and pain in the muscles. During Swedish massage, the muscles and areas the client wishes to have treated are worked on, and the pressure is adapted to the individual. Swedish massage is also well suited for treating stress and stress-related complaints.

Heat is often used as an aid for effective muscle relaxation, and I offer heat treatment as a free addition to my Swedish massage services.

Helps with

  • Tense shoulders and neck
  • Back discomfort
  • Stress-related muscle tension

Lymphatic massage

Lymphatic massage is a treatment form that improves the body’s lymph flow, and suits most people. Common causes of lymph flow issues include heat (such as a warm summer day) or prolonged sitting or standing (such as a long flight), which can cause symptoms such as swelling, heaviness, and pain, mainly in the arms and legs. Long-term lymph flow problems are common among pregnant women, people with diabetes, and older adults. A lymphatic massage treatment consists of firm, superficial strokes that follow the direction of lymph flow. Because lymphatic massage is very relaxing, it also works well for treating stress and stress-related complaints.

Helps with

  • Swelling and heaviness
  • Recovery
  • Need for a gentle treatment

Face and head massage

There are many muscles around the face and head that can be tense or sore but rarely receive any attention. During face and head massage, the facial muscles, jaw, temples, head, throat, and neck are treated to relieve symptoms such as muscle tension, headaches, stress, and stress-related complaints.

  • Tension in head and neck
  • Relaxation
  • Stress-related headaches
